It was because of fear and cowardice that the Israelites were made to wander the wasteland for 40years.
They feared the giants who occupied the promised land. Only Caleb & Joshua remained Faithful & did not fear, only these two were allowed to cross the Jordan of all those who left egypt. But it would be a long tough 40 years before JESUS meets them on the other side.

The Rest, was never fully realized by GOD's people, they never rid the land of GOD's enemies. We see in Revelation, when man is set to enter THE Promised Land, that "cowards" are number one on the list of those not allowed to cross over.
Cowards caused the Israelites to wander the wasteland for 40 years & cowards will NOT enter The Kingdom of Heaven.

From the moment Joshua led GOD's people over the Jordan, they fought the giant warriors who occupied the land, they fought for about 30, 40 years.
The lesson; always inquire of GOD, listen Listen LISTEN & obey Obey OBEY GOD's Commands, no matter how much our human minds cant figure out HIS Commands, just Obey HIM & HE will fight our battles.

One of my absolute favorite accounts in Scripture, The Commander of The LORD's Army. This Man has HIS Sword drawn, HE Commands Joshua to remove his sandals for he is on Holy ground, HE accepts worship. HE goes before GOD's people into battle.
This is the pre-incarnate JESUS, MESSIAH.
