Thomas Paine wrote in Common Sense that the government is a necessary evil. I will go on to say that health insurance is a necessary evil. When two necessary evil's get together we have what we see today on the healthcare.gov marketplace. I have decided, because of our own issues with health insurance in my Family to explore alternative medical insurance options apart from the governments marketplace. 

Pre-Existing Conditions, unfortunately, UNFORTUNATELY if you have Pre-Existing Conditions, like my Wife, you have no choice except a group plan through your employer, business or a Marketplace policy through healthcare.gov where you will get the same service you'd expect from the DMV.

Subsidies, if the government deems you worthy, you may qualify for a subsidy to offset your insurance premium through healthcare.gov ACA policiies.

There are no more IRS Penalties for not having an ACA government marketplace plan, we can thank our 45th President for this. You can enroll anytime you want on plans outside the marketplace, no need to wait until open enrollment.
